SIGHTSEEING
Temple tours introduce our guests to the cultural heritage of Northern Thailand. The stunning gilded pinnacles of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in particular will impress like no other. Wander among the guardian figures from the tales of the Ramayana and the protective naga serpents carved into the ancient walls of Chiang Mun, Chedi Luang and Phrasingh temples for insights into court life and worship during the Lanna period, the “kingdom of a million fields.”
Northern Thailand’s elephants live well at Mae Sa Elephant Camp with its baby elephant nursery, Maetaman Elephant Safari and Patara Elephant Farm, all of which are guaranteed to put a lasting smile on every visitor’s face. Local colour is an understatement to describe the spectrum rising up from the verdant gardens at Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden, located near Baan Tong Luang Hill Tribe Village, a collection of 150 Ka Young, White Karen, Lahu, Hmong and Dara Ang villages. Also worth visiting is Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak offering a cool mountainous escape with scenic tropical waterfalls.
