Language & Religion
The official language is Arabic though English is widely spoken. Hindi and Swahili are also spoken within the country. While Islam is the official religion, other religions are peacefully tolerated in moderate Oman.
Transportation
A private hired car with driver is by far the most reliable way to explore Muscat or shuttle between business meetings. Allow our Chedi Muscat Concierge team to make these necessary arrangements.
Weather
The best time to travel to Muscat is from October through April when daytime temperatures fall to relatively low 30s or below while the summer’s sunniest days between June and August can see temperatures rise into the 50s.
Tipping Policy
We remove any confusing cultural guesswork in the hotel by including a service charge in the room rates however guests may wish to recognize members among our fine staff which is entirely at your discretion. Outside the resort, a 5-10% tip, although not expected, is sincerely appreciated in most restaurants and services.
